Since I work at an electronics store I check out what people are saying about some of the more popular products we sell and recently I was reading some Sony Cyber Shot reviews and thought I’d chime in as well.
As far as compact digital cameras go, the Sony Cyber Shot holds its own against the other top brands. Just like any line of digital cameras from any brand, there are higher and lower quality cameras to fit a variety of budgets and needs.
Since my life is surrounded by electronics daily, I tend to like the upper tier products and models. As of right now, I think the Sony Cyber Shot DSC WX9 is my favorite of the Sony Cyber Shots. I like that such a small camera has over 16mp (mega pixels) in it and can shoot full 1080i high definition video.
The camera has great automatic modes that help the average user take great pictures. The Cyber Shot seems to perform great in low-light environments which is a complaint about a lot of competing brands in its class. The flash and red-eye reduction work well when taking pictures indoors as well, not too washed out and no orange glow or halos.
Some customers have said or complained that the battery that comes with the Sony Cyber Shot isn’t that great or doesn’t last very long. That doesn’t surprise me because of how much the camera is doing and there isn’t much space to cram a huge battery in the camera.
The display screen is high resolution and bright to make it easier to see your pictures when shooting outdoors and the high resolution pictures and high definition video the Cyber Shot is capable of taking requires a good amount of power to do so.
Luckily Sony makes really inexpensive rechargeable batteries for the Cyber Shot (around $12-$15) and I would recommend keeping an extra battery or two in your camera bag if you plan on snapping off a lot of pictures or shooting a decent amount of video.

Something that Sony has done with the Cyber Shot that other competitors haven’t done yet is to allow the user to choose between two different types of memory cards. With the Sony Cyber Shot you can use SDHC (that’s a high capacity SD card) or the Duo cards. I use SD cards but I don’t have anything bad to say about the Duo cards, just comes down to personal preference I guess.
So, overall I think the Sony Cyber Shot is a great compact digital camera that just about anyone can use. I would suggest to anyone interested in getting a compact digital camera like the Cyber Shot to price shop a little bit before you run into a store and buy one. Technology is always improving and that means today’s awesome products are super cheap when tomorrows toys come out.
I work at an electronics store so I usually get great deals on some items, but for the most part the discounts I get aren’t always that great. I shop at amazon.com for a lot of my electronics (and just about anything else I need as well) and they have really good reviews for the consumer (meaning they tell you when it’s awesome and when it’s garbage).
So if you still need further convincing, jump on amazon.com and read a few more Cyber Shot reviews and make a more informed decision.

I’m Sean and since I love technology and work in an electronics store I like to peruse the web and see what people say about some of our top selling products so I checked out some Sony Cyber Shot reviews and found that what people were saying about the camera I agreed with.
It’s always nice to see that “the masses” find favor and like the products you think have value and are good. I think the Sony Cyber Shot is a great compact digital camera for the average Joe. It has great automated settings for the completely inexperienced photographer and for the more experienced user you can change just about any of the setting you want.
The bottom line about the Sony Cyber Shot is that it takes really high resolution pictures (over 16megapixels) that are crystal clear and sharp and the Cyber Shot also shoots high definition video (1080i). It’s very user friendly and compact which makes it ideal for any occasion.
I’ve read and heard many people say that the Cyber Shot does very well in low light and indoor conditions which are often a complaint about other camera brands. Sony’s Cyber Shot doesn’t over expose your picture with the flash and has some internal components that help low light pictures without the use of the flash.

I like the shape and design of the Sony Cyber Shot. It looks good, as most Sony products do, and it fits well in my hands even though it’s pretty small and compact. The Cyber Shot comes in a couple different colors so you can really personalize the look of your camera and not be stuck in the same 1 or 2 color rut other camera brands are in.
A suggestion I might throw out there is to make sure you get at least 1 backup battery for your Cyber Shot. Since the camera is compact, there isn’t much room in the camera for a large powerful battery. Some people have said that the battery life on the Sony Cyber Shot is pretty poor so if you’re planning on taking more than a couple pictures or a decent amount of video, you’ll want to have a little backup power available.
Luckily Sony makes a very inexpensive battery for the Cyber Shot. You can pick up a battery for $12-$15 just about anywhere and I’m sure you can find them even cheaper somewhere online. I have a DSLR and a compact digital camera and I have 2 charged backup batteries with me everywhere I go with my point and shoot digital camera.
If you’re interested in getting a compact digital camera I would recommend the Sony Cyber Shot to just about anyone. You get a lot of great features for not a whole lot of money. The picture quality is great and the video quality is top notch when compared to the Cyber Shot’s competitors.
Other than the battery issue, I haven’t really heard many negative things about the Sony Cyber Shot. I would recommend you shop around for price and compare the Cyber Shot to other similar cameras because every brand functions a little differently and feels a little different when you hold it.
I hope this has been helpful. I most often go to amazon.com to check out their reviews because people do a pretty good job of telling it like it is and the Sony Cyber Shot reviews were very helpful and informative.

If you’re in the market for a compact point and shoot digital camera, I would recommend taking a gander at Sony’s Cyber Shot. They have several models in the Cyber Shot series to better suite your needs and wants in a camera.
I use the Cyber Shot WX9 to get wide, panoramic pictures. Not every picture needs to be a widescreen shot, but that’s why I bought a DSLR which is a lot more expensive and takes really amazing pictures.
Back to the Sony Cyber Shot, the camera is hard to beat when it comes to “point and shoot” digital cameras. It has great high resolution pictures that turn out sharp and clear with its 16+ megapixels. The Cyber Shot will also take video. It shoots high definition video at 1080i and the quality of the video looks great; even on a large 55” LCD TV.
Something else that’s really cool about the Sony Cyber Shot is the 3D mode. I don’t have a 3D TV, but I work at an electronics retailer and we’ve tested out the 3D on our TV’s here at the store and I was surprised a little camera like the Cyber Shot could do that!
3D kind of hurts my eyes so that’s wasn’t big selling point to me, but the feature is there and it’s definitely a cool feature.
The Cyber Shot has some really good automated modes built into it. I have a bigger DSLR camera that I tweak and adjust for almost every picture and it’s great to just relax and let the Cyber Shot do its thing. The pictures turn out sharp and I don’t have to spend anytime setting up the picture to make it turn out well, I just point and shoot.

A couple suggestions I might offer about the Sony Cyber Shot would be to one, get a backup battery or two. The camera is small and doesn’t have room for a big battery to run the high resolution screen, 3D, auto focus and so forth. The battery life is pretty short but that’s a small price to pay for some great features in a small package.
Not to mention you can get Sony brand backup batteries for the Cyber Shot for only $12-$15. If you trust knock-off brand batteries from China, you can get them for around $4 a piece. A pretty cheap solution if you ask me.
The second suggestion I’d offer is to not turn your camera on and off a hundred times as you walk around your kid’s birthday party (or wherever). When you turn the camera on and off and try to snap a quick picture, the camera is still “waking up” and won’t focus in time to capture the moment you’re trying to get.
If you take my first suggestion to heart, leaving the camera on won’t be such a big deal since you’ll be packing an extra battery or two. I keep 2 extra batteries with me when I use my Cyber Shot.
So overall the Sony Cyber Shot is a great little point and shoot camera. It’s very easy to personalize the Cyber Shot with all the different colors and models Sony offers. Feel free to check out amazon.com to see what other people say about the Sony Cyber Shot and see if it’s the right camera for you.
